It’s all about staying alive during the zombie apocalypse in Project Zomboid. But, some players may not be aware of a few other mechanics besides feeding and hydrating their characters.
In Project Zomboid, exhaustion is one of the silent killers. So today, we want to convince you to take a break. Take a seat. And, relax in Project Zomboid.
Here’s how to sit down in Project Zomboid.
How to Sit Down in Project Zomboid
You’ll realize that danger is generally lurking around every corner if you spend enough time playing survival games. Video games have taught us to run from danger and find a safe place from the beginning.
Rather than running away from your troubles, we will try to persuade you to walk away from them here in Project Zomboid. Project Zomboid has a character exhaustion system, unlike most survival games.
Running, fighting, and jumping cannot be done without tiring your character. So, you will be less effective in combat as your character becomes more exhausted.
The best way to get yourself into a terrible situation you can’t escape is to run around making your character tired.
And, the more you fight and run without taking a break, the more negative moodlets will appear on your screen.
You can see that your character is getting tired from these moodlets. You won’t have the energy to fight as well.
Characters with high exhaustion are also more susceptible to injuries while moving around. So how do you handle tired characters? Simply, take a break.
Sit Down in Project Zomboid
One of the easiest ways to allow your character to regain stamina is by taking a break. In Project Zomboid, you simply right-click the ground to sit down.
Select the option from the action menu. It reads Sit on the ground. Then, click on it. Now your character is seated. Relax for a while.
Project Zomboid recently added this feature. Check your game for the latest beta version if the option to sit on the ground does not appear in your drop-down action menu.
At this point, your character should automatically sit down and relax. So, let your character let off some steam this way and save energy at the same time. You will burn energy just standing around in Project Zomboid now even if you move.
Therefore, you shouldn’t sit on the ground to rest your character. In Project Zomboid, furniture can also be used to rest your character. Read on to learn more.
How to Rest on Furniture in Project Zomboid
You can use that comfortable-looking furniture to rest your character in Project Zomboid. It is nice to sit on the ground sometimes.
It also looks like a comfy bed. Isn’t that better? Your character can rest on furniture by moving it over to it in Project Zomboid.
To right-click on an object, click it. A menu will appear when you right-click the object. Then, a list of your character’s actions will appear.
You will see your character move toward the piece of furniture when you select Rest. And, you will be able to regain strength by sitting on it.
The selected object will move towards your character and your character will rest on it. However, in the current version of Project Zomboid, none of the furniture has rest animations.
Rather than seeing your character lying on a bed or sitting in a chair, you will see them standing next to the object as a bar appears above their heads. So, when your character is resting, you can see the progress bar above their heads.
And, as soon as your character reaches full stamina, he can run again. Also, by pressing the F3 – F5 hotkeys, you can speed up the resting process.
You have probably rested your character too recently if you do not have the option to rest.
Also, if your character is not tired, then you have rested them too recently. And, they won’t gain any benefit from resting on a piece of furniture.
