How to Clean Blood and Clothes in Project Zomboid
There are a few things you will need in order to clean blood. Some bleach and a mop are needed. And, either a dishtowel or a bath towel will do.
There are several places where you can find bleach. If you are looking for a mop or towel, you are likely to come across some. Inside medicine cabinets or on bathroom and kitchen counters, bleach bottles can be found.
The weight of a full bottle indicates its fullness. A full bottle of bleach weighs 1.6 ounces. A bottle of bleach that has been empty weighs just 0.2 ounces.
It loses between 0.11 and 0.12 of its weight with every use. Since bleach lasts only a limited time, you’ll need to regularly purchase more to clean large quantities of blood.
However, bleach isn’t hard to find. You can easily find more. Sometimes zombies will even drop it.
It is also not difficult to find towels. You can usually find them in cabinets in bathrooms and kitchens everywhere.
You can sometimes find them inside kitchen counters. In either case, none of them are finite. So, you can use them endlessly to clean blood.
Cleaning Blood in Project Zomboid
Let’s get started on cleaning up that blood now that you have the right tools. Here’s a quick guide to how to get started:
1. To clean a floor or wall, right-click.
2. There should be an option that says, “Clean Blood” as long as there is blood here or nearby.
3. You’ll then need to select a tile after clicking this option. Your tiles will be cleaned along with the surrounding area. This is why picking a mess from the center is better than picking it from the edge.
Right-click on an area after you’ve cleaned it to remove the grid outline.
Cleaning Clothes in Project Zomboid
This is much easier to do. Just find a water source. Select the “Wash” option from the right-click menu.
Next, you can choose to wash, all your clothes, a specific piece of clothing, or even one of your weapons.
You can hover over each choice to see how dirty you are, how bloody you are, and how much soap is needed.
Please note that Soap must be in your inventory in order to work. If not, you’ll have a message reading, “Not Enough Soap”.
Project Zomboid does use items from containers, so this may change at a later time. Therefore, it’s not clear why Soap can’t be used in the same way.
You should clean your clothes to reduce the risk of infection. An open wound becomes infected if dirty or bloody clothing is worn over it.
Having zombies sense smell does seem to be a mechanic in the game. They’ll be able to smell you just like they can see and hear you.
If you’re wearing dirty or bloody clothes, they may be able to smell you. Particularly if you sweat.
It is basically that simple to wash clothes in Project Zomboid. You will need another source of both power and water after it runs out.
